With Your Phone apps, you can instantly access the Android apps installed on your mobile device right on your PC. Using a Wi-Fi connection, Apps allows you to browse, play, order, chat, and more – all while using your PC's larger screen and keyboard. You can add your Android apps as favorites on your PC, pin them to your Start menu and taskbar, and open them in separate windows to use side-by-side with apps on your PC – helping you stay productive.

Open the Your Phone App and Sign In. With the October 2018 Update, the Your Phone app should be. When browsing on Edge on your phone, tap the share button in the center of the bottom menu bar. You'll see the Device name of your PC listed. Tap that and you'll immediately open a new tab in Edge.

Note: For the best experience, we recommend making sure your Android device and PC are on the same Wi-Fi network and band. Some Wi-Fi networks offer different connection bands, like a 5 GHz or 2.4 GHz band. Make sure both your devices are connected to the same one. How do I interact with apps?

You can use your PC's mouse, trackpad, keyboard, pen or touch-enabled screen to open, type, scroll, and interact with apps. A few tips for using your mouse and keyboard:

  • Single click  will behave the same as any single touch/tap interaction

  • Right click anywhere on your phone screen to navigate to the previous page

  • Click and hold will behave the same as a tap/hold interaction

  • Click and hold and drag to select content

  • Mouse scroll to move between pages vertically or horizontally

Some games and apps might not work with a mouse or keyboard. You'll need to use a touch-enabled PC to interact with them.

How do I know I'm using the multiple apps experience?

The requirements for using multiple apps are:

  • A PC running the Windows 10 May 2020 Update or later. For best performance, we recommend having at least 8GB of RAM.

  • An Android device running Android 11.0.

  • On your Android device, you need Link to Windows version 2.1.05.6 or higher, or Your Phone Companion version 1.20104.15.0 or higher.

  • Your Phone versions 1.20104.20.0 or higher.

How do I pin Android apps into Windows?

You can pin your Android apps to the Windows Start menu, taskbar, or add it to Your Phone app favorites.

To pin an app on your PC:

  1. Open the Your Phone app

Enabling Developer Options on your Android Device.

You need to change some settings on your Android device so that 'Developer Mode' is enabled.

  1. Open your device settings and choose 'About phone', 'About device' or just 'About'.
  2. Look for the entry 'Build Number', or 'Build Version'. This entry may be under a further sub-menu called 'Software Information' or 'Software Info' on some devices.
  3. Tap the 'Build Number' entry five or six times. (No, really!)
    Your device will show you how many taps are required to enable Developer Mode. When done your device will have Developer Mode enabled.
  4. Go back to your main Settings menu - scroll down to the bottom, you should see a new entry called 'Developer Options'.

Congratulations! You're now a developer! ;)

Enable USB Debugging.

Just a couple more settings to change..

  1. Tap to open 'Developer Options'
  2. Make sure 'Developer Options' is set to ON.
  3. Scroll down to 'USB Debugging' and make sure that is enabled also. If it isn't, slide the toggle switch to the right to enable it.
  4. Depending on your Android device - a window may pop up on your phone asking you to verify that you want to enable USB Debugging. Click OK or Apply to allow USB Debugging to become enabled.

Download Transfer Companion to your Android Device.

Download Transfer Companion to your Android device from the Google Play Store. You need to be running at least version 1.58 of Transfer Companion - so check for updates if you have previously downloaded Transfer Companion to your Android device.

Run Droid Transfer on your PC

Run Droid Transfer on your PC and when you see the connect screen:


Connect your Android device to your PC with a USB cable. Depending on your device, your phone may request permission for it to communicate with your PC.

Click OK or Allow on any prompts showing on your Android Device.

When Droid Transfer detects your device, it will launch Transfer Companion on your Android device and begin to load your phones data through the USB cable.
